Default Carrying Laptop

Maybe some here has experiance.

I got a new laptop and carry case. thing I need to know is if its ok to carry in the tour pak.... at idle it really shakes, and I'm not sure and dont want to ruin the computor.

This is geared towards rubber mount motor riders or anyone with first hand exp.

Thanks for any insight.

I never take my Mac PowerBook as I just dont want to take the chance of theft if nothing else. But I do have a 10 inch Netbook I take with me when I travel. I have never had a problem Geeze. Plus the little 10 in is small and travels quite nice.

Just make sure if you travel with it, do a shutdown, not just hibernate. So to make sure the hard drive parks itself.

I take my laptop to work with me all the time...never have a problem with it. Like Mike said, shut it down so the HD locks/parks and you should'nt have an issue. Think about those Panasonic Tough Books...they can be dropped and knocked around.

i carry mine in wrapped in bubble wrap in black and decker drill bag shoved into a cooler to keep it dry. from the campsite to some wi-fi access i just strap it to my handlebars or bitch bar. the bubble wrap is the key. so far so good.

Just like the others have said. No biggie in the tour pack as long as you have some miner buffer. I have placed it in the saddle bags without the computer bag and just placed it on gloves or something soft so any bad bumps don't hurt it.

I've said it a million times, to tour properly you only need a pocket for a credit card.

Tom just nailed the final bit, an iPad down yer shirt now relegates bags for shopping duty only & that's wimmins work anyways

I carry my laptop with me all the time on my bike. I always carry it in it's thick laptop bag. Put it in anything else and you will crack it. Lap top bags are deigned to cushion the laptop against most types of abuse that can happen in traveling around, including the abuse it will receive strapped to the back of a bike.
