Default Recommendations on powder coating

Looking for recommended powder coaters in south-east, had bad experiences in the past, although looked good initially, problems arose when re-assembling ( nothing fitted as it should, bungs not fitted where they should've been

Wanting to do front end, headlight & rocker covers, might wait till winter though as don't want ride off the road for months !

Also thinking of getting fork tubes titanium nitrate coated (think that's what it's called) got a quote of 445 which think is pricey ? But then don't really know what this process costs ?

on Ti Nitride we are substantially cheaper than that, in fact we are way cheaper than that on DLC !!!

powder coat no problem, i work with a large firm whos manager is also a biker (and works part time for me) and he does all our powder coat. he knows exactly how to work with Harley parts.

Thinks I'll be bringing you a box of bits for powder coating then roughly what is the turn around on coating ? so I can decide whether to do it now or wait till later in the year. Was thinking of changing to fat bob trees which I can get in black if they'll fit with my fork lowers ?

Did you have any luck sorting out a price for me on those HD wheels ?

Cheers, Paul.

ive not heard back yet from HDW, will chase them up.

turn around depends on extent of prep work needed but generally a few days.

heres a shot of Ti Nitride coating we do ( i am hoping youve seen the DLC)

I'll take them. Are they black ? If not can add them for powder coating. Presumably they fit the 49mm fork tubes ? Will need to get spacers for my front wheel till I get replacement wheels. Think the Ti Nitride coating may clash with my orange tank so will stick with tubes I got. If turnaround is that quick will get my fork lowers & headlight done now.

Sorry for my ignorance but don't know what DLC is

ok, Trees will need powder again, they are off Voodoo Bob.

DLC is a black plating only for super tough steels,, its a mega high temp, high pressure process where Acetylene is blasted onto the surface under extreme temp and as it detonates the carbon content form micro diamonds on the surface

the result is a weird kinda black coating that in the sun looks like oil on water,,

heres a shot that shows nothing !

That's a Fkng looking ride, ain't seen that before, love those pipes.

Need to get out & strip down my front end & get parts to you for powder, 100% on the fat bob trees though. Can I get my rocker box covers off without removing the tank, don't fancy a mouthful of fuel & that cross over pipe is a pain, was thinking of removing rear mount bolt then just lifting tank from back for access ?
