with all the nitor's and a big engine like that coupled to that wide of a tire I would have thought they would have went with a chain...

A belt is much, much stronger than a chain

It is different aplication. It easier to replace, and easier to work on, but again, a Harley, even with engine and performance work done to them, will only come close to straight line performance, and NEVER close in the cornering department. Having said that, a PROPERLY ADJUSTED belt, is stronger and therefore more reliable, plus keeps your bike clean...

imo chains are better
belts are just quieter, hassle free etc
i would prefer a chain on mine,, how many times did you think about a chain when your wheelying and how many times do you think about it with a belt ???! coz every damn time i kinda whince a bit when i snap the clutch..

agreed, but again, diff aplication. Never done a wheelie with the hog, and prolly never will. My riding style has changed, and I don't know if I ever told you how insurance works over here, but I CANNOT afford even 1 single speeding ticket, or dangerous driving. If you get caught stunt riding, wheeleing, or racing on the street, or anything that the Police Officer sees as dangerous driving, your vehicle gets impounded, you lose your license for 1 week, first offence, and up to a year, or lifetime ban, for recurrent incidents. Plus your insurance goes up, and takes years to go down to normal. Easy and looking good is what I want!!
