Default Need a front wheel for my trike

Well big problem, the wheel bearings in my front wheel came apart and took out the seats of the wheel.
With only 740 miles on the trike both bearings come apart and destory the wheel with them. Now that wouldn't be so bad but now I find out that wheel is on back-order at Harley until July 8 2010. Which means I don't have a bike for 4 months, and I just got it. So now I'm on the lookout for a spare wheel, I guess I'm going to need to buy one until the other one comes in.
The dealer is Latus Motors HD, says there hands are tired and they have to wait on Harley to send them a wheel. There has been talk of maybe getting one off the production line and sending it to me. But that may just be talk, the dealer checked HD stock yesterday and that's where they got the July 8 date. I got the stock # 83326-09 for the wheel, but I wonder if any touring 16" wheel will work?

dont know about which tires will work and what not... BUT i can say that i had a transmission rod bearing go out.. H-D told me it was back ordered for a month and a half... i threw a fit andasked wh they could get one off the line, and why they couldnt take one out of a bike that was still in crate... they told me a was screwed, taking one off the line would "hinder assembly" and taking one out of a bike would give them one less bike to sell... so i had to sit on my hands for what turned out to be a week and a half shy of 3 months... they extended the backorder twice!
i hate to say it man... but dont get your hopes high with um... get another to run until they get um goin again... till july?! i cant believe that

Default Front wheel

true that man... thats total b.s. if they dont get you rollin again within the week... i can KINDA understand why they gave me troubles with my bearing (being internal transmission and all) but a friggin front wheel is a totally different story (a much easier story)

Default Front wheel

I have been riding Harleys for 40 years, my first was a 58' nuckle head in 65'. I have allot of trouble with my 08' Ultra, that between the dealer and Harley they bought the bike back from me. Now this one is having problems, I might end up with a trouble free Honda some day.

What if you order up an after market wheel. Will they pitch in towards the cost?

You would be able to get a nicer looking wheel.

Default Well as I was told today

I'll tell you, they really like to get me spooled up with the 7/8/10 wheel. I go to the dealer for a ride today, and gues what is sitting outside the shop. My trike ready to go, the owner called the factory and had them send a wheel from a trike he had on order. So I could be on the road riding instead of crying on his desk.
