Default 2014 erratic idle

I recently bought a 2014 Road king 103" high output with about 1650 miles. The bike runs great but it has an erratic idle. it idles rough and will drop below 1000 rpms then up again and feels like it's lugging as the idle drops. if i shut it off, then start it again. it idles down and lugs.. after riding a bit it will idle at 1000 or so rpms but its rough.. i just had a small intake leak but it didn't really help it.. Could it be something electronic .. Anyone have this problem before or a solution to this..

The bike has true dual with 4" Bassani mufflers tuned with a screamin eagle tuner.. air breather is an Arlen Ness round open breather.. Bike runs great riding.. idle is decent after riding a bit. but if motor is off then start again it idles crappy for a bit.. i've researched online to try to find the problem. i think i'm going to have a thundermax ECM installed later.

Yeah, I had problems with a tuner and rough idle. If you have oxygen sensors in the exhaust give then a good check over mate .
Dax and Black Harleys Matter like this.

i asked this question on Facebook. i was told it could be the temperature sensor in the head or the high pressure line could be defective..

this model allows for the rear cylinder to shut down to prevent overheating. But if it is doing this it's doing prematurely in my mind.. i don't think it's the temp. sensor.. might be high pressure leak.. talked to the harley shop he said they would diagnose it for and hour labor..$100

When we were in Florida I hired a ultra classic , that would also shut down the rear cylinder when on idle, its suppose to save fuel according to Harley you can get that feature taken off if you dont like it.

once the rear cylinder shuts down.. does it still idle "normal" ? if not i'd like for the rear cylinder to operate always.. i might get a love Jugs fan system later.. the best one on the market..

you can feel the rear has shut down, it feel's lumpy. that's how I noticed it so, I asked the guy at Eaglerider if the bike was ok and that's when he explained about the fuel saving mode and the rear cylinder

I found out to enable and disable the EITM.. the rear cylinder to operate or not at idle in hot weather. turn on ignition. press on button at controls. roll hand forward till throttle stops for about 3 seconds. an orange indicator in the speedo cluster indicates it's off enabling the piston to operate. doing this again goes green where its disabled. bike can be running while doing this.

It still idles erratically after riding and then shutting off and starting again. HD shop said they'd diagnose for $100.. hour labor..
