Had my choice I'd have a solo seat on mine, but we left her bike at home so I gotta make things a little more comfortable for her.
Wish now I had bought a bobber... quit jumpin' up and down and screaming sk8

if you have and use them...watch out...they are known for snapping the single bolt that mounts the boards to the frame, this is due to the addituional weight on the mount.
I snapped mine off in a parking lot, good thing I was able to hear the board and peg hit the asphalt or else I would have lost the entire thing..imagine if it broke on the freeway!! yikes!!

First thing I did when I bought my E-Glide was remove the rear foot boards and put on the kuryakyn adjustable pets. Kept banging my legs on the damn boards. When wife had to stop riding, she didn't care for them (she had no feeling in her feet and would slip off) so we put the floor boards back on. When her Trike arrives, the pegs go back on!

I had a pair on mine and had the right floorboard fall off due to a broken bolt. Fortunately my wife wasn't on when it happened. I took the adjustable pegs off and took the bike to the dealer and got the floorboard and bracket replaced under warranty. I never put them back on because the wife said she was just fine with the floorboards and didn't want them. They are still laying on my workbench in the garage. There were quite a few of the same type of incidents posted on HDF, and it seems the bolt usually broke when there was no passenger on the bike. This leads me to believe that it may not be the weight (a passenger would put more weight on the bolt than the pegs) but probably has something to do with harmonics or something along that line.

OR
They didn't use a dab of Locktite and the bolt didn't break, it backed off. Harleys are known for that.

No, they were definately breaking off. Mine still had the end in the frame and that seemed to be the case with the ones posted about at HDF. There was some question that maybe the MoCo had gotten a batch with bad heat treating, but it was pointed out that the problem spanned several model years

Your factory boards on that '08 should be adjustable up or down. Had to raise mine to the top notch so the GF's feet would reach comfortably.

Don't have an 08 or floorboards for the passenger. You lack of nicotine is clouding your mind

A different seat and detachable backrest should make her pretty happy

I'll admit I didnt read the posts only the initial title, but I recently put Kuryaken adjustable foot pegs on my 2000 Heritage. Really nice. I also have the rear footboards as well and it all worked out for lots of options for my GF.
