1st ride and problems
Finally got my 1st ride of '10 in today, we still have snow on the ground, but it got to almost 50 so I had to ride, not much, but I still managed just over 100 miles. It didn't go off without a hitch though. I've been keeping my '06 1200 on a tender, start it regularly, never any problems unless it's extremely cold. I fired it up today, no problems, got it warmed up and took off, noticed immediately that the speedo wasn't working, nice day, screw it, I'm riding. The odometer isn't working either, push the button on the back and can't get to trip meter A or B and the odo isn't registering any miles traveled, but it will display the total miles when you push the button, then it shows nothing, just a blank display. The running lights up front work, but the turn signals do not work at all, the horn doesn't work either. I should add that when I turn the key on and wait for diagnostics to run, they don't, but the turn signals flash 6 times rapidly. Everything worked fine last time I rode it last December, it starts and runs just fine, any ideas?

Thanks for the replies, I went out and pulled the maxi-fuse, while it sat for a couple minutes I checked the other fuses. They were very corroded and the accessory fuse was blown, cleaned them up, replaced the blown fuse, and everything worked. I didn't get to ride and check the speedo, it's getting dark and the streets are starting to freeze over. When you turn on the key and it goes into it's diagnostics, is the speedo supposed to peg out and then return to zero? Mine doesn't, it jumps a little and settles back at zero

The needle just jumps a bit. Sounds like youre good to go Black. Pulling the Maxi should have reset the TSSM, I think

You can reset without the fob so long as ya got the PIN. But try it out, sounds like it's ok & the needle does jump and then settle back down, my two do a lot of tweakin about when first switched on.
If it's still pullin an error & it's historical & ya don't have the PIN, then don't bother because after 50 or so starts it'll go back to normal.

True enough. It kind sounds to me like the TSSM wasnt really the source of the problem in the first place.

The problem might have been caused by starting the bike while the tender was connected. The directions that came with my tender advised not to start the bike with it connected. Don't know if that was to protect the tender or the bike???
