Sportys and cold weather
Are sportys allergic to cold? lol! When it gets below 20 she don't start, even though I keep the tender hooked up, 25-30 she fires right up, lol! My metric on the other hand doesn't get the tender and fires up no matter what the temp, lol! Not like I'm going to get any riding in, there's a foot of snow between my garage and the street and the streets are still snow packed. I was just bored so I at least wanted to do something, lol!

It tries, turns over a couple times, slowly, then just runs out of juice, even though the tender says it's fully charged. I'm thinkin' it may be a combination of a dying battery, cold, and fresh 20/50 HD synth oil. Although I would expect a battery to last more than 3 years, maybe it's just a HD thing, I dunno My metric is an '07 900cc V-twin, almost 20k miles, original battery, never had a tender on it, starts 1st shot every time. I'm not po'ed about it, just making observations and trying to learn something. I don't winterize either bike, here in Kansas we can get a decent riding day during any of the winter months, so I want them both to be able to roll at a moments notice.

Sounds like the Harley is a bit emotional that it has to share a garage with a metric.

LMAO! She shouldn't be, she definitely gets more attention and once the weather clears a bit, she'll definitely get ridden more!

You need a battery. I have had to replace the battery in my 06 already also. Im wondering if keeping it on a tender all the time is a good idea.
I kept mine on all through the winter the first few years, Im leaving it off this winter and just throwing it on once a month this winter.

If you set the alarm, yes it will pull juice. But if I remember, you can put them in storage mode. I never do set my security when in the garage.
