Talking New Fatboy 2013

Good day,

This is a great forum.

Just bought my fatboy 2013 black vivid. My bike will be OTR maybe another week
I'm first time Harley owner. Still need to learn a lot from you guys.

Any suggestion on customizing the bike?

I'm getting V&H Slip on Mufflers

What else? Still need to shop for some accessories.

Gonna lower the bike too

welcome aboard the board!!

get a stage-1 air cleaner kit, the ECM download, some nice rims, maybe some 15" apes from Wild 1, and a nice Mustang/Le Pera/Corbin saddle.......then RIDE!!! (lowering???, I think it hurts the ride)

thanks for the reply Mr Odd Job

I'm after for Slip on Mufflers that's not too loud but louder than original stock mufflers.
Any recommendation?

I keep coming back to this thread hoping Pete would be giving ideas on how to cut this bike up, maybe I have been away too long.

kennyyeap....I was remiss to tell you...my cousin has a set on his Street Bob and he likes them, he rides with me almost every weekend and they sound really nice and mellow...but when he gets on it they do have a good bark but nothing obnoxious...makes his bike sound like a Harley should
kennyyeap likes this.

I agree with OJ to a point Do the high flo air cleaner. But get a tuner rather than the download. I feel the download still runs them to lean. To lean = running to hot = bad things. V&H are a good choice if you dont want them to loud.

Well guys as I said before this is my first bike and I will consider to upgrade the air cleaner once I get more familiar with the bike.

Still waiting for my V&H to be delivered, can't wait

I'm changing the housing kit and switches to chrome, I still after the chrome lever set and grips . Any recommendation on the chrome lever?

By the way I'm thinking to get HID Kits, just don't know where to hide the ballast.

Cheers!

chrome levers are a personal choice, get the ones that "float your boat".....get an HID kit that comes with a small ballast, you can place the ballast in the headlight nacelle...a second recommendation, check out the new LED lights that HD is selling, have two friends that have them and they love em, puts out considerable light about 5 X's better than the OEM light and a third recommendation...the Phase 7 headlamp and passing lamps that Kuryakin sells (made by Truck Lights). I have them on my Ultra and have not found a better lighting system..

Skip the comestic stuff, if you are doing the pipes the next logical move is to swap to a heavy breather, IMO.
