Rocket Bobs HD Rocker build
I have just been commissioned to mod a Rocker, DCC style, by my local Dealer.
So i have a brand new HD to cut into
will post pix here tomorrow and then pix etc as i chop it up.. The Dealership are after a Heartland look to it,, like the cover of AIM this month..
more later as it rolls

so why don't they just put the Heartland kit on the bikes to begin with......
I mean putting a perfectly good bike in your hands is insane........

tough call this one, you need to do a fabulous job to get the commercial DCC brand off to a good start but equally you need a profit margin. In life we are limited by our imagination and the budget can sometimes stretch to match, lets see how your talent and skills live up to commercial pressures. I have faith.

keep the seat as thin as possible and yeah, run it up the rear fender a tad,, but narrow..
started it today as the Bob had a bad reaction to some primer and so work has been held up

right,, so the reason we got the Rocker paint deal on top of the fab work is i boldly claimed that we could match the OEM paint
the usual painters used by the dealer reckoned it was impossible to match the color of the bike etc because HD dont tell you how they mixed it they just supply two diff reds !! you gotta figure it out..
so up steps Col, and altho these pix suck and i am going to put up some better ones later this weekend, i hope you can see the dude fckin nailed the paint
fist shot is primer,, yeah Black!! i was shocked also, then the red base, then the candy..

ok,, milled out the fender mounts,, heres a better shot of the swinger and have got rotors masked off ready for powder tomorrow..
still a lot to do and they want the thing finished by next weekend and the launch party of the new models
here i have the rocker fender clamped to the mill bed and am taking out 6mm around the mount holes to sinkk the bolts on final assemblet
here i have offered up the original color against the fresh paint and its perfect,, may not look cool in the pic, as for some reason the iphone lost the real pop of the red,, so just trust me, its awesome
a day later and its still soft,, but such a perfect job. Its a complicated piece to paint, so manyy angles and pockets where paint can pool,, yet Col has covered every mm perfectly and smoothly,, the guy is an artist no doubt about it..
here ya see one mount bolt laid in a finished mount !
yeah i know,, boring pix,, but ya dont understand,, if i dont post i get massive hassle from Ben !!
