Default Sport Glide

OK, I've got a great 2003 Fat Boy and I LOVE it. I'm old and short and the bike fits me like a glove.

The only thing I not 100% happy with is the short HD factory bags. (The 2 buckle style)

You can't lock them and you can't get much in them.

My questions is: Is the Sport Glide a better bike. I know it has the 107 and a 6 speed.

The bags look great, but not that big. How big are they compared to my Fat Boy bags?

I have never yet seen a "real" Sport Glide.

So please give me some real life info. on the Sport Glide.

Thanks, Lgordo

G'day mate. first off Happy new year I wouldn't go selling a bike that I really like just because of the bags, J&P have some good options. I got a set of throw over's that are lockable and went well on a 8 week trip, so good in fact my son pinched them The new Sports Glide has a lot of good gear on them , especially in the front end with the smaller front wheel and the upside down front forks to make for great handling. The little bikini fairing apparently works well and you can get a larger one if you want. I've seen Sportglide with the fairing removed and a set of ape hangers fitted, it looked really good too. I've actually been thinking about getting one for my wife as it seems to cover every thing from a tourer with bags to a stripped down sports bike.

Chris & Carrie,

Don't get me wrong. I would NEVER sell my Fat Boy. I would get a Sport Glide as an additional bike. I might sell one of my other bikes or just make room in the garage for yet another bike. One can't have too many bikes.

As you suggested I got 4 combination locks with a 4" cable. That way I can snake the cable through the buckle and a hole in the strap and it can't be opened (without a good pocket knife).

Don't the problems of a Harley owner just make you want to cry. I mean cry because you just can't afford all of them. Just maybe two or three.

Thanks for all your info.

We come and see you "down under" but you won't let anyone in right now. (good thinking).

Cheers! L gordo

Default Beer Money

Drink all the beer you want now. If they limit the amount you can drink, just go "out back" and have a few extra!

Let us know when your getting to Sturgis so we can give you a warm welcome!
