Gals Bikes ...
Sooo What bikes do you gals in here ride? Pix? And why did you choose that bike? Any special mods to accomodate height? So many questions, and we know you have answers!

Let's see...
I currently ride an '08 Ultra Classic with ABS. The choice to ride this bike after 1 1/2 years on a Deluxe was due to my riding style (mostly touring) and my back (it wanted better suspension).
I was actually worried about the weight and the height but I haven't really had any issues. I can even back out of places I didn't expect I could.
I'm 5' 8" with a 32 1/2" inseam so I have made no specific mods for height. I did put on a mustang seat which did lower me just slightly....made me just a bit more comfortable. Usually I find myself adjusting to give me more leg room. I did add the Wildone Chubbies to bring the bars back a bit. I also added a backrest for comfort.
I often ride with hubby who rides a white Goldwing...hard to miss us
I commute, tour, and just have lots of fun.....

I had my doubts going that big but I'm really glad I did....it's a world apart from riding the Deluxe.
Don't get me wrong though I loved my Deluxe but like I have said before the Deluxe just did not fit my riding style. I do miss the "Pretty" though.....
When I bought the Deluxe the first thing I thought was that I needed to paint the Ultra (blue roses) of course...but I just haven't gotten around to it. I need to sti down and play with photoshop some I guess. I'm not great at it but maybe I could get an idea.

I suppose I've never thought of a motorcycle as being "pretty"; However, that white and chrome comes about as close as I've seen. Maybe a big blue rose in the center of the fairing with stems and blue rosebuds climbing along the fairing outer wings??

Saw her bike this weekend, Greydog. The white and chrome are really nice. Makes me want a touring bike even more instead of my heritage ...

Nice bike Rose, I'm with Warden on the color choice. Thanks Rose for talking about the height adjustments, I sat a RK a few weeks ago and both my feet were in tippy toe mode trying to touch the ground, that may generated some laughs but I am glad it is working for you...there is hope for us 68 inchers.

It seems like every year they get higher. I swear the 2007 was lower....might have been the stock seat differences.
On the '08 I could flat foot most of the time but had no leverage with the stock seat. getting that extra inch from the Mustang seat really helped
as for color....It's defiantly white that is the fastest....people get out out of your way when they think you are a cop :p

Now that is the best answer I have heard for any color choice, thanks again for the insight...maybe those elevator/platform engineer boots won't be needed when the time for my next bike comes.

Hey Riv! I'm a "66 incher" and I have no probs with my 05! 30" inseam. The boots do help a lot. Not as comfy on it in sneakers though! Been riding the big glides for most of the last 43 years.

Yes, they did make the '09's taller than the '08's. I am 69" w/about a 30-31" inseam and w/the Road Glide, I am just short of flat foot. On an Ultra, I can't flat floot it. The Road Glide is the second lowest glide to the Street Glide, which has 3/4" shorter shocks. I think down the road, I may put the SG shocks on; which will be just perfect...
Oh, Whites a nice color also...

The lowered suspension was one of the things that drew me to the street glide. That and the Dark Blue Pearl which is without a doubt the fastest color
You guys got some nice bikes.
Hey Rose, Does you bike have the electronic throttle on it and if so what did you get into when you changed the handle bars. I've been thinking about doing the same thing for the same reason.

Sadly I'm still a relative youngster, by the time I get a few years under my belt I'll be 64" (shrinkage and all)
Good reading thus far, ya'll will be converting me sooner than I thought...well maybe someday.

Her first Harley, the Sportie. We sold the Springer, still kicking myself in the ass! We have all 3 of her bikes.

Yep electronic throttle...Handle bars were not that bad you can easily get the extensions for the throttle and clutch. Buy bars made for '08s and they are pre-notched. The ABS was a bit more to to but not too bad.
Took hubby and I, ok more hubby then me cause he would not wait for me , 14 - 16 hours to replace the bars on an '08 with ABS.
They are sooooooooooooooooo much better then stock.

One of these days we are actually going to ride together we are sooo close.
Hubby and I wish we had a bigger garage. So would have kept hubby's VTX. He really misses it. I'd like a mid-sized sport tourer. Just no room.

ABSOLUTELY!
Vesta is almost ready to start riding again. Her hair is back and balance is getting a lot better. She sits in the garage balancing the Deluxe on one foot, then the other. Still wanting the feeling in her feet to come back.
