awesome FB! Maybe a small .com in white under the A?
Only thing I'm worried about is the MoCo itself. I have the two domains
HDRidersUSA.com
HarleyRidersUSA.com
And they both get you here. Just thinking that if we build it up as HarleyRidersUSA.com and they make a big stink, it will be a lot of effort to regroup as HDRidersUSA.com ... But ... if we start out as HDRidersUSA.com and use the Harley one from time to time, it would be much safer. I've heard they have a brand police out there, mainly for merchandise.
They hassled our sponsor HarleyGoodies.com but when he took anything remotely harley off his site they let him keep the name. Said if someone uses Harley as an "adjective" then it would be ok. I think we fall into that category but why take the chance.
Thoughts, discussion?

If you were a paying client, I'd tell you to repeat the whole URL under the logo, i.e., hdridersusa.com. I'll post a revision and another idea in a few.

i'm thinking the t-shirts are sorted,, and i dig the subtle ref to Le Grande hooter A la Hitchcock,,,
and i'm into the other ideas you have floated, like mugs and key fobs,, well into them...
but may i suggest a latex strap on monkey beak for the members on those occasions we all get to meet up??

Hey FB, that rocks! On the shield one could you try two diff ones. One with a small .com in white under the A following the slope etc.
2. and instead of the lower case hdridersusa.com on the current one can you put www.HDRidersUSA.com ?
lowercase it is just too hard at a glance to figure it out ... i'd just like to see it both ways

Steer clear of the brand police. They got more lawyers than we got spokes. If harleyridersusa.com is safer, we'll use that as the URL.

The shield symbolizes HD ... AND ... the highway signs on the roads all over the USA. And who are we? HarleyRidersUSA.com ... big connection. Sort of a Route 66 thing.
Only issues I have is the TM ... which harley will freak at. And the swirly thing in the background. At first cool then kind of out of place. Maybe something symbolizing a reddish brown mountain range in background. From a distance the very first shield sort of looked that way.

I'm sort of partial to the shield also. It's sort of questionable whether the whole logo would fall under a "derivitive" work as far as copyright/trademarks are concerned. I believe as long as the same lettering font and shield as the HD logo are not used you should be OK. Hell, I know several people named Harley and they haven't been sued yet!! Something similar to that flashing logo of the flag themed USA for heat shields in the upper left corner of this page would make a great background also!!

I like the usa flag map or something like it as a background just like greydog. I think we'll end up doing both, but i'd like to get the shield one nailed first. Just not wild about the swirly background. i wonder if it would be redundant to put the white .com under the A ... and as well put the www.HDRidersUSA.com address line at the bottom. .com isn't big so it should be ok or what do you folks think. I want to say a big thanks to fortbriscoe for doing this for us. It is muchly appreciated!
The more I look at it, the shield with no .com and the name under it works fine. Just would like to see a different background. Something with mountain shapes or a long lonesome road or greydog's flag idea.

my .02 the shield should be the one to go for as the main logo,,, and a faded, maybe raggerty Stars and Stripes behind would be ace..
i see the other as a patch, decal or larger version on the whole back of a shirt further down the line...
man i'm an opinionated SOB
