Some more ridin' pics

Went riding along the west side of the Mighty Mississippi River and took a few pictures. It's amazing the amount of ship traffic there is on this river. Both sides of the river is bordered by a huge levy so you can't see the river unless you are up on the levy or crossing it on one of the hundreds of bridges.

There are many old structures along the river. This is an old store front in the hamlet of Missionfield

Plantations litter both sides of the river. Most are open to the public for a nominal fee. Average price to tour these dwellings is $14.00 per person.

The picket fences that front these homes are apparently wind proof. In many instances the home has sustained hurricane damage, but the fence is intact with little to no visible repairs having been completed.

A tour of historic Donaldsonville is definately a step back in time. Old buildings line the streets and the welcome center/museum is always open. Well at least thats what the sign said, but the doors were locked. I still haven't figured out how the bastards knew I was coming.

Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear. Alot of the plantations that line the river are privately owned and have no where to pull off the road to photograph. So, Cindy takes most of the pictures while we cruising down the road.

Hey send me some pics of some of the cemeteries down there. They don't bury people they set them out on the ground and pour concrete on top of the casket.

If I didn't know what you did for a living, I'd be worried. There's a big one in the French Quarter that you see on TV all the time that I want to photograph after dark. I'll send them to you.

Been to Montana...love the place damned near as much as I do Alaska. I will get my ride through that awesome place someday.
But I still think he could park that thing in a Wal-Mart parking lot in L.A. and it would still give the appearence that he rode a serious adventure to get there. I think I am a closet Buell lover....does that make me crazy?
