First off, “Hello everyone” and thanks for the warm welcome back.
I have been away for a while with a very busy work schedule and unfortunately, June 21st I got hit at work (again) and have been recuperating at home.
So there I was...
Ridin along minding my own business when Whammo, I get hit by a taxi van in the intersection. The van then pushes me out of control head-on into two plastic construction barriers (the large 55 gallon ones). The bike and I go down onto the left side where I proceeded to slide while still holding onto the bike another 94 feet. Just before the bike (and I) hit a curb I let go of it, tumble a couple times just short of the curb and alas, still breathing but pissed off.....
Feeling better now, left shoulder probably needs another surgery (already had 3 past surgeries on it), neck surgery is a real likleyhood now as I already had a fractured C-5 vertabrae that I’ve been nursing since my 1995 crash.
Left hand, wrist, knee and ankle are jacked and of course the proverbial road rash to the left side.
What pisses me off the most.......This was my favorite and most dependable Police Harley I’ve had, and now it’s totaled (cracked frame, broken engine case etc, etc)....And torn to shreds uniform....But, on the bright side, I will live to ride again. Very soon.
So there it is, glad to be back.......Here are a few pictures of the bike, looks much worse in person..
