Question vibration problems

I'm sure there is posts on this subject here somewhere.... my 04 wide glide vibrates like my sportster!! I saw on the web that someone noticed space between the front motor mount and the frame when the bolts were removed. Shims were put in and some were fixed. I did the same thing to mine and when I was done with the shimming, I started the bike and the same mirror shaking, handlebar shaking was still there. Above 70mph, my front turn signals are just a blur. What else could it be?? the vibes are bad enough that my one turn signal filament broke! Any suggestions????

I've heard of this before...and I agree with Chris...motor mounts may need to be replaced both front and back. Check the tree and head bolts to see if they're loose too. The front mount is supposed to have 'x' amount of space...check your HD manual for details. Good luck!

Welcome -I'm a BowHunter, too. but we don't have the big Whitetails like you in Pa. I went round and round with the alignment of the engine in the frame on my bike: it seems from changing oil, the biscuit you shimmed can get soft. I would get a factory Service manual, and do the complete alignment procedure, using a new front biscuit. Each alignment step has to be done in the proper order. I also changed out the rear fork bushings; now it doesn't catch the rain grooves so much. good Luck!

I've never been a fan of the rubber mounted motor's mate, Hate the way everything flaps about and vibrates I prefer the softails and the new ones look pretty flash with the adjustable rear suspension
