Question need a tuner ?
Hi guys, just got got the 14 " bars and some v&h short shots from Ric. Love the bars, [ Thanks Ric ! ] Question I have is I have xieds on the bike now, 06fxd, but with the free flow air cleaner I have , when I add the pipes, will I have to get a tuner ? Would prefer something simple, Im not after big h.p., just want it to run right. Thanks.

Should get a tuner with the bike in stock config. because the tune from the factory sucks / too lean. XIEDs apparently help with that but I had them on a Nightster once and noticed ZERO difference. Depends on how much you want to spend, but you can get a close out Power Commander 3 / III for cheap in some places. There's a new version now but the PCIII had lots of users and has lots of maps available.

With the Xieds you should be fine.

Keep in mind with most inexpensive tuners, you'll have to bypass your O2 sensors to actually be able to adjust anything. Not a big deal, they just usually don't make you aware of that before purchase.
