on your voodoo jig pic are you usin fcaw or smaw for the jig setup?
what process you use to actually weld your fenders together?
i know prolly not smaw that would be pretty epic.

while stick is cheap and pretty cool, i need a better weld and so run a MIG. I use C02 as its better if you are fabbin and a ton of anti spatter chit..
For the Voodoo its all 140 amp, the Rocker/Softail fenders go up to 160-180..
just about to buy a new MIG, old guy passed on today

The Voodoo struts are bent in a 110 ton press, machined off some jaws at 37 degrees, sent tts away for hardening and that's it. It's pretty nuts, the struts are 10mm plate and just flop into place, no spring back at all.
The Rocky struts are Disc Cut (C) on a jig and then torched & bent to 57 degrees.
Then the cuts are welded back up on the jig.

That's cool and all, but the real question is: How do you make those custom Rocket Bob's rocket finned nuts? Are they machined from solid steel, each taking more than an hour? Or ... the unthinkable ... bought from a little Chinese man with one tooth who imports them from China and you simply paint them black?
After than the famous Rocket Bob's healthy markup is applied and the .57 nut becomes ... well ... almost unaffordable.
???
Inquiring minds want to know ...

buy them in lots of 20 from a little guy in china for .02p
they come nickel plated, so i rub them back and powder coat them
then i fix them up with a nice fat rubber spacer
