Chrome plating lowers
Anyone had their lowers plated? Just wondering what a decent price is. I've sent an email off to a plater in the city, and just wanted to know if their price will be in the ballpark of what others charge.
Figure this is a good alternative to polishing the aluminum myself, then all the related upkeep to keep them looking good!
And NO sk8er..... Taking a flat black spray bomb to them,,, is NOT an option !

before you plate them,, are you sure youre gonna keep them??
WGs dont have the best triple trees,, i would be tempted to go for an after market set that come plated already..
also if its like over here ( and it may not be! ) chrome plating prices have shot through the roof so you should offset that with the cost of pre chromed cool lookin trees..
however,, powder coated gloss black, with gloss black lowers and gloss black rims is a nice setup.. think outside the box,, chrome is ace, but less looks more and black highlights what you have already MORE than more would...

Oh CRAP! You know I always forget you guys live on the other side of the world
I would just keep checking, that seems like a pretty common price and there are tons of chrome lowers on there. Someone will ship to Canada.
Does Canada have their own ebay?

Ok, got the new lowers .
Next question. While I've got the forks torn down, should I just put the old springs back in, or go to aftermarket springs, like Progressive?

Read a lot of nice thing about the progressive, I think I would probably go ahead and do it now. I will be facing the same thing this winter. Just dont know if I want the progressive in a bagger.
