Got a Flat! (no, not an apartment)
So I rode into work this morning in the pouring rain and everything was peachy. After work, I was rolling the bike back and the rear tire felt funny. Sure enough - it was flat.
Aired it up and got home and this is what I found.
A fckin spiral shank nail!
I got out the Stop N Go tire plugger kit and plugged the hole with one of the mushroom head plugs.
Keeping my fingers crossed that the tire won't be flat again in the morning...

Hey Micah, if your not replacing the tire real soon (today?) get some "Green Slime",(follow instr. on bottle) stuff is a mirracle sealer, doesnt hurt the rim like Fix a Flat will and it will actually seal a hole twice the size of that nail.Wouldnt trust a plug like that in a bike tire. Good insurance anyway.

anyone (besides me) think the plug/tire will hold up?
and I run a Dunlop ~ about $180 or so

Once youve been layed up for 6 months with 1/2 your body coverd in road rash, been scrubed with a wire brush,an a couple of bones poking through, ya get a whole new outlook on riding safely. JMHO REPLACE, my vote.

MICAH....
REPLACE......asap!!!
Don't take chances with your safety...remember, you only have two tires keeping you up off the asphalt!
Chances are they will hold but the plugs on motorcycles are meant for emergency repair getting you from point a to point b.......on cars they are different....

Micah, it's your bike and body, but don't take any unnecessary risks when there is a fairly cheap solution... Replace!!!

Is there not one brave, defiant, idiotic soul amongst us?
Wow - I appreciate the outpouring of support/concern for my well being and will take all suggestions/commandments under consideration.
Pete - Dunlop is originally from England! Where's your patriotism?

I am all of the above, I promise... But I always make sure that the cause of the problem would be rider era, not equipment malfunction...
