Front end clunk
I'll start this thread since it concerns my bike, and as it also concerns other models, I wont post on the Dyna section but rather on general frame and chassis.
Here'a bulletin, concerning clunk originating from the front end. Please read on.

Thanks for the info I just brought my 08 Heritage in to get my wheels on and I ask them to check it out because I had this from day one when I hit a bump hard it will make a noise like it was loose and it was a little bit on the triple tree
Thanks again

No worries cajun. The jist of it is either the washer in question ,was not the proper spec for the MC standards, or/and it was not properly torqued at the factory level. Furthermore, most dealers actually have no knowledge of this recall. I walked into my Dealer, with a copy of it, and they actually asked to keep it.

Yeah, no clunk since. It is an unsafe thing not to change it, worst case scenario you could loose control, plus it is free.

No 96er, it's a recall concerning a safety issue. It is absolutely free, and they should be able to do it right on the spot if the part is in stock. This is what they should do.
Remove chrome cap
Remove stem nut
Remove the offending washer
Replace with NEW washer,DO NOT allow them to just retorque.
Torque stem nut to new value, as per indicated.
Ride away without paying a red nickel
Cheers

So they dont check the fallaway when their done? Just replace the washer, tourque the nut too the new spec, and call her a day?
Closest authorized dealer is a full day and about a $130 trip for me, ( ferries and what not). Wonder if I call them if they will send me out the washer to replace myself. My guess is they will send it, but I'll be paying for it.
Cheers... Ben.

No, my apologies, every time you adjust the nut stem, you have to check fallout. I can send you the scaned copy from my manual that tells you how to do it if you want.

Na, I've read it. Pain in the ass disconnecting your throttle and clutch cables to do it properly!
