Thats the way to go on a TC motor,,gear drives.

Get rid of the stock negative overlap cams and no more chains , tensioners to fck around with ...

Fueling makes some top notch stuff, wishing I woulda put their cam plate and oil pump in when I did my gear drives. Tho mine are the Andrews/S+S cams.

yeah to true,, we have gone with S&S gear driven (cams being andrews!) before

but really excited to see Fueling doing them,, they may have been out a while but i just noticed them in an AMD mag..

just applied to be a dealer,, but either way the 574s will be on my Bob in a fckin heartbeat,, i have the credit card in my hand

plus the beehive springs and i am gonna fit them to the rocker build also

You wont regret it , for sure.

Tho I,m sure you know, but when ya get the adjustable pushrods, get the kit with tubes, as trying to adjust with stock tubes is possible, but not worth the hassle.

"FEULING® uses the force of the Reaper’s scythe to put the power band where it counts..."

Really, now? That line made me laugh.

Why would you need the cam gears with the cam? Don't remember why from my course.

gear driven cams are better,, ok

yours are chain driven with sprockets and a woefull adjuster.. just what you need,, plenty of lash

gear driven are,, well,,, gear driven,, front rotates backwards,, but basically its an easy install

and rev it without fear ,, especially with the beehive springs

i'm so excited i think a little wee is running down my leg

Every H-D prior to TCs where gear driven, worked perfect. Chains and tensioners have a very high failure rate. M-Bs 3.8 L motor '81-'83 had a single row timing chain that broke so often that to this day if ya still got one they'll do the conversion for free, and the cams had nowheres the ramp that an H-D cam does. And where do ya think all that worn out tensioner crap is going, right there at the oil pump?
Think your course neglected the basics of engine failure and wear rates.

Depends on what type of cam suites your needs, they all have their own formula.

Lift , duration , etc. If your doing this conversion money shouldnt be a deciding issue.

Do the job once an be done with it.

From what I've read, ya have to check a lot of things, and possibly welding the crank , or else you can tear the motor up !

Gota love the EVO's !!

Nope that's hooey!

You check for play, that's it. The 96 would benefit from a proper LHS bearing buy every shaft weve checked has been within tolerance.

It's very easy, very quick and no hassle.

Anyone who doubts that the 96 is the best motor they've put together should read up on it

You should really check the gear backlash, esp. on outer set.

Runout on the pinion shaft should be zero, but some arent so, check for a tight spot and than backlash there.

If its to tight, they make over and under sized gears to correct.

A zero backlash in the tight spot is normal, binding is not, to loose will make a racket.

Install is easy if you have some mechanical background and a press is helpfull.

The course was about building motorcycles, not diagnosing engine failure. That's a separate course.
