Default selenoid / starter issues

just finished rewiring my bike, everything works except that after a short run the solenoid burns out, very hot to the touch. the starter motor is also vey hot to the touch.

I have a 1984 electric kick assist transmision, 4 spd, 2010 evo engine, custom lowrider frame. I refer to it lovingly as my Frankenstein. any help would be greatly appreciated

G'day mate Montana is a great spot I'd be checking the relay 'cause it sounds like you solenoid isn't shutting out.....don't know for sure as I'm not in Montana but the earth on the relay was an issue on early Evo's. so i'd be starting there mate.
