Default metzler 880 150 vs. 160 for 02' LR

It looks like the Metzler 160/80 B 16 M/C 75H TL ME 880 MARATHON - 40 PSI, will fit my 02' lowrider without any problems. I have the stock dunlop on it now with at least a 1/2' of space to the belt still and no bolts in the way in the fender area.

My question: Is the 160's extra cost over the 150 worth the price? Any performance increase or is it just looks? Ive read that the Metz 150 is more narrow than the stock dunlop 150 thats on it now..??

Motorcycle superstore has the 150 for $158 bucks and the 160 for $213.. I wish it was cheaper..

They recommend the 100/90 - 19 M/C 57H TL ME 880 MARATHON Front - 38 PSI for the front.

Stock rim.. I think its 3-1/2" or 4"..? not sure where exactly to measure from as its on the bike with a tire in it.

i'd put a 4.25 or 4.5 on it,, you can get them off CC easy enough and then go 160,, thatll push it right to the chain,,

Gotcha thanks for responding so quick S8.. well thats more than I want to spend and do right now so maybe I'll just order the 150 for now.

but metzlers website says that it will fit my bike with a stage one upgrade..?? then it says that stage one upgrade is a true bolt on..?? but it doesnt say what the stage one upgrade is.. Is it the Tire itself?

fck knows,, there is so much BS talked about tires and sizes and whatnot..

Thing is the 880 is the widest of all the tires,, you know when you get to 200 tires, the 880 is way wider than any of the others

i think the 150 would be cool for yours on the stock rim and a 160 later on a 4.25

fact is,, IMO the whole 240/260 + things pretty much blows,, you gotta do a lot of work to get it to look at all right

whereas 150/160 sizes are just cool looking

Yep, Thats a fact.. so many different sizes and rim options out there its hard to figure it all out.. Then manufacturers sizes vary to throw a huge wrench in there..

I agree, the 150/160 sizes are just cool looking.. sometimes the narrow look just fits the bike good.
