Fall Away
If the " fall away test "is done incorrectly, could you get a vibration in the bars? I have a vibration in the handlebars and cant seem to figure it out.. Help??

it would have to be done really bad !!
more likely is a tyre out of balance,, check both , because the rear can also be felt in the bars
check for any play in wheel bearings
but why are you worried about fall away,, have you had it apart lately?

Just put it the front end back together a few nights ago. I did not do the fall away test. Skipped right over it. Just forgot! Took it for a test drive last night and noticed more vibration than before.

uhm yeah,, you need to do fall away and fast !!
go back over,, make sure you got it all down,, then use a long screw driver on the castle nut to tighten it,, suspend the bike and just make sure the bars fall to one side or the other under their own steam once youve pushed them a few inches..
undo the clutch cable for sure and the throttle cables if they are routed tight
BUT,, you need to do this now,, not ride it because Bud, you dont know just how loose that whole stem is !

I took this apart and about three times when I installed this. I made sure the castle nut was tight ( not overly tight but snug). When I say vibration I only mean a little. Not a huge amount.

When I took it out yesterday I did some really hard braking to make sure that the brakes worked well and that there was nothing loose. Im still going to take it to the dealer to make sure I didnt do something stupid. I didnt hear anything making noise or any clunking. I did notice that the front O2 sensor was loose on the header but it doesnt go anywhere,, Its not attached to anything. Vance and Hines Radius,,, Should I be concerned about that?

Well had a ton of people look at it yesterday and they loved it. Still trying to figure out where the vibration is coming from. They think that the forks are a wee bit high coming out of the top triple tree. Because the shaved nuts don't have the Hex top like the old fork nut... I think I may lower it a 1/8 on each side..That should put less pressure on the front end.... thoughts? Im also running heavy oil versus type E...

no the forks through the trees will make no diff Bud..
if you got vibes and the headstock is adjusted right and all the bolts are up tight then check the wheel balance
mind you if its just started after pulling front end apart then either you are noticing something that was always there or you havent done something up or fitted back in
the shaved nuts and whether you drop the forks through or push them down,, wont make a hill of beans diff and definitely not to vibration..

From what I understand dynas don’t liked to be slammed in the front via the spring/spacer kits and I have heard of guys lowering front a bit by raising tubes. But not more than an inch max above top tree.

If you have a fork brace try taking it off.

you can take nearly 4" out of the 49mm forks and drop them an inch easy thro the trees
on Blackbird (bars heading your way BTW) i took out over 4" in the fork and dropped them 1"

I had vibration at highways speeds. Reset the fall away. Gone.
Friend had vibration on his (ug) bagger. Eventually found his tire was goofed on the left side.
Another friend had vibration. Old rotor was super thin and essentially bent.

change your fluid back to std hd fork oil....basically you have lowered the bike which takes the intial bump reaction out of the fork....then you increased the viscosity of your fluid which firms up the ride even more due to slow fluid travel. Switch back to std hd fork oil.
