Default fat bob trees or wide glide
hi new to the site live in england i do have a standered street bob but after joining this site you have opened my eyes to a new world of st bobs. after searching a few dealers in america i have found some cheap trees the fat bob and the wide glide. is there alot of difference in these like wheel choice rake etc ? ( i think this the only time im going to look forward to winter so i can get some of these mods done to mine )

Hey, welcome to the site

you need a wide glide hub, you got a narrow glide at the moment.

No problem tho, it's a mod a lot of folks have done & it all goes together easily.

I thought about it, but then wide glides were tainted for me by another member here

sorry the wires are hanging that was the night i internally wired the bars

What's the point of doing the WG swap? Are the trees raked differently??

i think the trees have 2 degrees of rake.

the reason i did it was to have a wider selection for 21 inch wheels. its hard to get a 21 on a midglide unless you are into relacing or outright buying a custom wheel.

i did the wg trees and then got a 21 off of an 07 wide glide. got the wg axle and spacers. and bolted her up. had to shim the brake caliper a little but it was an easy job.

i had a choice to go back with mid glide when i bought new wheels, but i like the look of the wider trees. mainly because its just a little different and u dont see it on many street bobs.

let me know if u need any info, trees should run about 150 if u can find some used ones. axle is about 90, spacers are 10 a peice, and i found a wheel for 150, and got a tire for 80. so basically 500 bucks and a little time

i got the wide glide wheel in my shop, but just sold the mid glide, i may have a few pics somewhere for comparison if you would like
