Default I GOT A STIFFY!

i got a stiffy...front end that is..or im just halucinatin after riding my friends gsxr...i hit a pothole hard n somethin went out of wack on my front end...from 0-35 my bike is smooth and easy to turn side to side and lean..after that the front end is so stiff its almost impossible to move...very wierd..at first i thought i was bugging out but as i was trying to weave doing 80 it was not happening..although i can ride with no hands for a decent amount of time being that the front is so stiff (maybe stupid i know but i ve seen people do alot worse) so when i got home i checked out the front end..the trees looked ok n tight but i saw a lil seam of oil on the top of the left fork leg...could i have blown a seal? would this give my bike wood? its gonna be beautiful all week n i really dont want down time...heeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!

I knew an eskimo girl that blew a seal once and she had a similiar leaky discharge.

Okay serioulsy though, yeah I'd say you blew a seal.

Wipe the oil off with degreaser and go for a short ride. If your lucky it will just be a premature spurt & can settle down.

Otherwise, don't worry, seals are pretty quick n easy to replace.

Jack the bike and check fall away.

Loosen the lower pinch bolts and bounce the front end up and down, whilst holding the front brake.

DOES THE FRONT END COMPRESS WHEN YOU GRAB THE FRONT BRAKE? IT SHOULD FLOAT NICELY UP AND DOWN.....DOUBLE CHECK YOUR HEIGHT OF EACH FORK TUBE ABOVE THE TOP TRIPLE...MAKE SURE THEY ARE THE SAME.

LIKE SK8 SAID, JACK THE BIKE UP AND CHECK THE FALLAWAY....ALSO LOOK FOR ANY BINDING IN THE FRONT END WHILE TURNING IT WITHOUT THE WHEEL ON THE GROUND.

IF YOUR SEAL IS LEAKING AND THE FORK TUBES DO NOT SLIDE FLUIDLY, YOU COULD HAVE A BENT FORK TUBE....BUT I DOUBT IT.
