KALEA is infamous around these parts
Default Engine RPM

My FXDB09 engine runs over 1000RPM when in neutral position...
I run a a Scramin' RT, and have the software and cable to tune the injection.

I want to decrease this, let's say to 900 RPM : harley says it will explode, kill me and start a nuclear world war
I really don't get why : they talk about the oil pump that would not work under 1000 rpm, but it really sounds like shit to me.

What do you specialists think ????

you can safely run it at about 900rpm.....just so long as you don't let it sit and idle all day long. oil is not going to drain out of the top of the motor and cause it to run dry while sitting at a stop light. just remember that low rpm = lower oil pressure and vice versa.

If you have a 2007 or newer bike, it has a better cam plate & oil pump than the earlier model twins. Fueling makes a killer setup that will run better oil pressure and is bulletproof.

a better cam will give you the idle you are looking for also. woods 6 or andrews ev37 sound decent w/o having to do extensive mods.
