i gave up on this thread because of Ben and Dax
but seeing as Carl is interested and its now rockin into assembly time,, i shall post up pix..
today i finished the mould for the center consoles and popped one out for mine,, paints being done, wheels also
Mikes got my PCV
my battery has shipped
engine has been "aquablasted" ?? yeah new to me also,, very weird process,, anyway its back with me and assembly of that is this week
wiring is still a comlete nightmare,, my switches are mini stainless buttons mount flush into the spine between the seat and the tank,,
cut the forward mounts off the frame and welded in tabs for the Kellermann fronts
got all my black banjo bolts and banjos and black braided line so brakes are ongoing
AND THE BIG NEWS,,
Rocket Bobs Cycle Works derby covers will be ready soon

oh,, and just to beat Joker,, we use 70/71 ally, not 60/61 like joker
so have made every spacer throughout the scoot, and a bunch of other doodabs out of 70/71
plus replaced the stock JM breather bolts with my own machined out stainless ones..

Is that a FXSTC Low profile laced rim laced to a Dyna Hub? If so, thats a cool setup...I've got like 10-15 of those front wheels laying around....If I didn't hate to lace wheels, I'd probably have some front wheels to run....

with that tire overall diameter is just over 30"

lol,, yeah i am a bit freaked on this one,, wanted it to be a feature but now thinking the apollo rim is to strong because of the way it wraps right round the tire and i also think a 120/70 would have run out flatter..
but hey,, well see

Yeah it's pretty weird and not sure I understand it
was just about to get the barrels and heads bead blasted coz man they corrode bad & the paint was flaking etc, prolly due to all the shit I rode mine thro.
Ok so Lisa finds this company and showed me the website, it's some kind of special water mixed with a media, like sand but not. And it's flowed over the parts, not blasted. It's specifically for heads etc because it's non invasive/damaging.
The finish is awesome. Going to run the barrels as you see them in the pic. Still painting the heads tho.
But all future engine work I do for customers, I'll get their parts cleaned this way. It's expensive but well worth it

Okay, i see.
The finish really does look good on them.
It’s nice Lisa doesn’t ride with you but goes out of her way to help you find a place to get your parts done. You’re lucky
