Default Pledge furniture polish

I don't know if I read this here or somewhere else, but I thought it worthy of posting.

The last several times that I've washed my bike and in between washings, I've used a soft rag and pledge furniture polish to wipe it down. I've also used it on the car and I'm amazed by the results. No haze, no scratches just a brilliant shine that lasts. Plus bug guts wipe off easier. Works on everything but the tires.

You know I have read this before. I heard Lemon Pledge, dont know if there are more than one type..Never have tried it but they say it works.

Think its an old truckers trick to make cleaning the front of their trucks a little easier.

I don't remember where I read it either, but it really works. I use a soft cloth, spray it directly onto the surface and wipe it off. It even works well on the chrome and the plastic windshield. I used it on the car everywhere except the windshield. It's cheap and works.

Another tip for cleaning bug guts off. spray hydrogen poroxide on the bug guts. Bug guts are nothing more than protein and poroxide eats protein. I sprayed it on just prior to washing the car. They wipe right off.

I've been using this stuff for some time now....really like it and makes the bike shine and when bugs eat it on my bike they come off pretty easy...

The green thing wrapped around the bottle is the microfiber towel that comes with each bottle..

You ought to do a comparison between it and pledge. I'd be interested in the difference. The pledge is only 4 or 5 dollars a can

OJ, the spray you posted is in most of the Harley dealerships around here. I have shyed away from it as I thought it was kind of pricey. If you say it works though I will get a bottle of it. I wish you could buy it with out the towel though as I have a mountain of the micro-fiber towels already. I carry a bottle of X-Bead and some of the towels with me when I travel but it takes a bit of work to get the bugs off with the X-Bead. Other wise it is a great product I like the wax they sell too, but dried on bugs are a little dificult on the fairing.

http://www.formula113.com/

I'll try the bugslide

Oh, and Baggers Rule.

morning Paul!!

I really like the stuff..it has worked very well for me..I was hooked on Prolong Waterless Wash and Shine for years..but when I tried this Bugslide, I was hooked..it actually helped bug removal (not that CA has a lot of bugs) and works great on HD windshileds too...

oh yea....BAGGERS do rule!!

This is after a typical night time ride. And it sucks cause night time is when I like to ride. This was about 2 hours riding after dark.

Oh, and Baggers Rule.

That looks like night time and early mourning riding in North GA. Sucks cause it seem like I'm always have to wash the bike to get the bugs off.

Are those the same as "love bugs" down in Florida?? The first time I was stationed down in Mayport the radiator in my car got so plugged up with them it took forever to wash them out so the car didn't overheat. Had to buy a friggin' net to cover the grill in the spring and summer!!!

I saw a post just last week on another forum and I can't remember which one but this guy is a chemist and he did a comparision between pledge and I think Meguirs and they are pretty much the same make up.

I couldn't remember where I had read it either, but I tried it and was amazed. I've even used it on my car and truck.

I read....somewhere... that Pledge does a great job, until you have to repaint! Somehow it messes up the new paint job. Not sure of the details, but if you ever have to repaint or repair... make sure you do a great PREP job.

Dose this go for any type of lemon polish? I was at target last night picked up some pleage while I was there. It was 3.99, they did have another brand for 1.25. Wounder if it is all the same. Do you use it on your paint too or just chrome?

I use it on everything but the tires. I've used generic brands and they work, but not as well as Pledge.

Don't use the Pledge Wipes though. I guess there's something different in them because when I tried them they left nasty filmy streaks on my bike.
