Yes you can do it,, you've already shaped your OEM so your no stranger to fabbin
with that look you need to decide on you finished tire and buy the fender to suit. It ain't like a voodoo , that's cut so small you can run from stock to 200 and be ok. With that you need the tire to fit

i wanna keep the stock rear rim and tire size. so now that i have everyones approval, i have some concerns:
1) Since im keeping the stock rear will the 8.5 inch fender be too big or will it be just right?
2) i already have an idea on how to mount the fender but i still need some help
3) if im mounting the fender so close to the tire am i still going to be able to use the stock seat or bare bones, or do i have to put a springer seat on?
4) where would i mount the rear turns? i was thinking of leaving a bit of the strut to mount the turns but i think that will look weird. im thinking of getting the mini turns from kuryaken.
Thanks for all the help guys

LMFAO !
Mabe the fender fairy will come along and grant you all your wishes !
ok, all kidding aside .. you want your fender to hug your tire on a Dyna, it has to be able to move with the swingarm / tire.
Seems simple right........ just try it !!!!

oh, your other option is to do what I've done, and what you have now.
Mount your fender with enough clearance so that when your suspension is bottomed out, your tire does'nt hit it ...

Your #3, you'll have to go to a solo seat that does'nt attach to the fender.
Your fender is going to be moving with your suspension, right !

You have to lower your ride, you have to restrict your travel from stock. Which is a good thing as done right it'll improve the handling. You need thinner than 8.5. Your stock seat is gonna look crap. If you go for a mount off the arm a sprung seat is beyond crap if the bike is still sprung. For gods sakes don't leave any of the stock struts to mount turns. If ya go arm mounted then put them on the rear support bar, otherwise just put them on the fender but buy small!!
And post LOTS of pix
