Ideas for my Street Bob. Arabic Version.
Hi,
Finally, got the guts to own a bike, (Street Bob 2010) and what a bike!
In the last busy week, I managed to cover almost 1,000mile and ready for deal check-in.
In the next few months, while the weather is still beautiful and before it hits summer again (45Deg +) I am planing to work on the bike to make it more personalized and fit for the region.
I am going to "Arab-ize" the bike, basically, change any text on it from English into Arabic where ever possible. (Later work on the dials/speedometer etc) and I can start with the Logo itself. As much as I like HD logo, I am going to give it a try and have it in Arabic beautiful calligraphy 3D made out of steal or hard foam. I am still searching for an 3D artist & a company who can CNC the logo 3 dimension and not just cut it in 2D.
Even go step further and have the tank/fender/helmet/inside the wheels, all look like flames but Arabic text..
So, I think I am going to have "Harley Davidson" on the tank. Some Arabic poetry on the in-side lip (right side) of the front/back. The poetry was written by my Uncle who is greatly missed in the family, and a source of inspiration.
The bike should be ready by my estimate end of Jan or mid Feb.
I thank all of the people who are right now working on the bike in some way or other and putting my messy ideas together.
As a newbie, I will be looking forward for your comments (Good/Bad) and advise.
Here is a sample "Photoshoped" tank with some text on it.

I can mill your text in 3D if you get stuck,, but it's going to be expensive for us to do it!
It's a lot if work & just a heads up, but builds tend to run over even when you've done a few.
Anyway,, HUGE congrats on getting the finest Harley ever to roll out the factory

Thanks man.
I think you can do it, but I need to supervise it... Maybe with some photos back and forth by email... Or Live broad cast...

UPDATE:
I could not upload the photos, as the server keeps kicking me out.
So I added them in my Mac account.. > MobileMe Gallery
The project is not finished yet.. about 60% of the actual work done.. Some minor issues pending.. BIG THANKYOU goes to Rocket Bobs who put together this amazing project of mine.
I'm going to give it a name.. Saroukh Bob. "Saroukh" in arabic means Rocket. LOL...

that's a groovy bob you got going on. Really different to the current trends. Love the small touches like the orange stitching on the seat.
Looks good now but what else do you have in mind?

heres the thing,, after seeing Omrans headlight there i have scotched mine back to raw i think the contrast is awesome,, so just had to copy it!!
Not to answer the question for him, but the fender height was figured out by me, knowing the wheel size and shock length (slightly longer than stock), i made a Voodoo that will allow the Ohlins to work but still be a lot closer than stock to the tire..
it can go a lot closer, i also sent Omran 1" lowering blocks, but he hasnt fitted them in the pix..

Update.
Here are some photos after testing the bike yesterday.
First, I really need to chk about my back pain.. It is killing me...
The long stretched handlebar is really uuuuH! Maybe shorter to balance with my actual high,, I'm a short guy!! I look like an Ape riding that..
Handlebar will be painted black matt and pushed backward a bit.. + Vibration is amplified due to the length of the handlebar.

I'm inspired by your bike man!
I wanted to do the same exact copy/replica as yours first, then I wanted adventure to create my own bike..
By the way, the bike will be featured in Bikers Cafe
So, I have been asked to write about it and some Hi-res photos soon. Hope you will like it..

project update
update:...
My hunt for an arabic calligrapher/artist had failed. For many months, and many emails/meeting back and front, no one had clicked with the idea.
Last week, I took a basic arabic calligraph course, and I came up with these images. Fuel tank is quite complex with it's curve, and so the inner rim.
Next is to paint it, these stickers will be used as stencils.

Fuel tank is coming up good, I think.
With the stickers on, I think I need to raise it a bit higher to get leveled..
Rear voodoo fender is quite short over hang, it will be painted all the way under the seat, the logo will be hanging just after the seat.
